Versatile Design for Ice and Mountaineering
The shaft is curved below the head to improve clearance and hand positioning during ice climbing. At the bottom, the GRIPREST QUARK handrest helps protect the hands on steep ice. The shaft remains sufficiently straight for use in piolet-canne mode, making the QUARK suitable for a broad range of mountaineering situations.
Its hydroformed middle section provides an optimized grip for snow couloirs, while the overmolded bi-material handle offers secure handling and helps insulate the hand from the cold.
The TRIGREST QUARK and GRIPREST QUARK handrests improve grip on difficult sections. TRIGREST can be adjusted in height without tools, while GRIPREST folds away easily when planting the axe in snow.
